When you add ferro vanadium to spring steel with chromium or manganese, it makes the steel more elastic and improves its quality. In tool steel, ferro vanadium mostly helps to refine the steel's structure and grain, increases tempering stability, and enhances the secondary hardening effect, which in turn improves wear resistance and extends the tool's service life. It's also great in heat-resistant and hydrogen-resistant steels. When you add vanadium to cast iron, it helps form pearlite through carbide formation, stabilises cementite and results in finer, more uniform graphite particles, while also refining the matrix grain structure. All of this makes the casting stronger, harder, more resistant to wear and tear.
